Jonathan is God’s chosen – Prophet Ituen
Prophet Ekong Ituen, President/ Founder Christ Deliverance Ministries (CDM) Lagos, a renowned seer who has prophesied many national events with accuracy, speaks with Richard Eghaghe on the on-going elections and other issues affecting the country and the church.
How do you see the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) living up to its mandate to conduct credible elections?
I will not like you to be ignorant of the fact that it is the spiritual that controls the physical. God told me that 2011 will be characterized by chaos. INEC’s Chairman Prof. Attahiru Jega will not be able to curb rigging as expected. He will disappoint Nigerians. That much God has told me.
Can you foretell how the results will likely turn out to be?
I can confirm to you that the PDP will lose same states during the coming elections. That is what God has shown to me. In the nearest future, the PDP will be a party not to reckon with anymore. It may lose the presidency going by what I have seen. The incumbent governors of Oyo and Imo should pray against defeat. Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State should pray against disgrace as he may not win. If he wins, I see the law court over-turning his victory.
Are you saying President Goodluck Jonathan may lose the election too?
Spiritually speaking, I see Jonathan as a courageous and straightforward person. To me, he is somebody who has the interest of this country at heart and somebody who wants to move this country forward. Winning this election is really up to him. My only fear is his romance with ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo. Obasanjo has never stood successfully with somebody till the end but my prayer for Jonathan is for God to guide him and give him the courage and the political will to do the right things for Nigerians. He should pray against shame because there are sycophants and betrayers around him that will make him to take wrong decisions and step on toes of those that helped him to power. Other than that, he is the man chosen by God for this moment.
People have experienced fears over the level of insecurity in Nigeria. What is your take?
I must confess things will get worse. There is no solution to bomb blasts yet. I just pray we don’t get to the level of Iraq and Afghanistan. But for sure, there will be many political assassinations this year.Kidnapping will be on the increase but we can reverse all of these through prayers.
How would you assess the level of development in the country?
It is a shame to know that Nigeria at 50 does not have a stable electricity or pipe borne water. We celebrated 50 years of nationhood but is there really something to celebrate? What have we achieved? Is it the corruption that has eaten deep into the fabrics of our leaders? Is it kidnapping or embezzlement of public funds? Is it bad roads or election malpractices? I want a Nigerian to tell me what we have to celebrate. I suggest every 1st October in this country should be declared as a national day of fasting and prayer for the forgiveness of our sins. It is to be noted that the problem of this country is that of bad leadership and mismanagement and until we adopt a peaceful revolution and rise up against any bad leadership Nigeria may not move forward.
